Explore the Leadership Voice Lab
Welcome to The Leadership Voice Lab
A practice-based approach to leadership voice, presence, and influence
Leadership presence is not a personality trait.
It is a practiced leadership capability.
The Leadership Voice Lab is Theatre of Leadership’s practice-based environment for developing:
executive presence,
leadership voice,
persuasive communication, and
credible authority.
The Lab is designed for:
senior leaders
executives
and high-potential professionals
It is for visionary leaders who want to succeed when leadership places them in the spotlight.
It is for transformational leaders who want their ideas not just to be understood - but to move people to act.
In the theatre of leadership, every day is a lived performance.
The Lab helps leaders intentionally shape how they are experienced, trusted, and remembered in moments that matter:
leadership conversations
high-stakes presentations
influence situations, and
pivotal career transitions.
Here, voice, presence, body, timing, and story are developed together- each reinforcing the others to shape how leadership is expressed, felt, and experienced.

What the Lab Is
A Practice Environment - Not a Course
The Leadership Voice Lab is not a presentation course, a toolkit of techniques, or a one-off communication workshop.
It is a practice-based leadership environment where executive presence, leadership voice, rhetoric, and performance capability are developed.
We do this through:
- skills coaching
- guided rehearsal
- reflection
- feedback, and
- refinement
We focus on leadership that mobilises, inspires, and enables others.
Leaders must have the ability to step into the moment, read the room, and respond with clarity, authority, empathy, and strategic intent.
What Leaders Develop in the the Lab
Rather than just learning about leadership communication, leaders in the Lab practise how they show up - repeatedly and intentionally.
In the Lab leaders develop a voice, presence, and message that hold steady under real leadership pressure.
Through sustained, integrated practice, the Lab supports leaders to:
- Prepare for high-stakes moments - physically, mentally, vocally, verbally, and strategically.
- Strengthen presence, authority, engagement, and influence - with the range to adapt style as leadership contexts shift.
- Align leadership intent with leadership impact - and be compelling in the leadership spotlight.
Which Pathway is Right for You?The what of leadership communication can be learned.
The how is only developed through practice.
Practice, reflection, guided rehearsal, and refinement sit at the heart of leadership development in the Leadership Voice Lab

Performance vs Performative Leadership
Leadership is a performance - but not every performance creates leadership impact.
When does performance strengthen leadership - and when does it start to undermine credibility?
In the Leadership Voice Lab, we make a clear distinction between performative leadership and authentic leadership performance.
Performative leadership focuses on appearance: saying the right things, adopting a certain style, following a template, or projecting false confidence.
It often looks polished, but lacks resonance. The result is effort without influence, and lack of connection.
By contrast, authentic, impactful leadership performance is intentional, embodied, and grounded. It resonates. It connects. It earns the confidence and trust of others.
Authentic impact, as opposed to performative impact, is the ability to align voice, presence, language, and timing so that what you intend to convey is what others actually experience.
It requires the courage and skill to be original - to express who you are through how you lead.
In this space, credibility, authority, and trust are formed - not through affectation, but through genuine engagement.
The Lab develops the capability in leaders to move beyond surface-level performance to develop a leadership presence that is felt, believable, and effective in moments that matter.
We do this by strengthening authentic leadership voice, presence, and story through:
- professional guidance
- tailored rehearsal
- refinement
- personalised skill building
- practice in context under real leadership conditions.

Leadership Voice Strategy Session
Exploratory. Confidential. Practice-led.
A Leadership Voice Strategy Session is a focused, one-to-one conversation.
It's designed to explore how you currently show up as a leader - and how you want to be experienced in moments that matter.
This is not a sales call.
It is a strategic pause: a space to step back and reflect on your leadership voice - how authority, intent, and influence are expressed through your voice, presence, and communication, particularly under pressure and key moments of influence.
Together, we explore:
🔺 the leadership moments where your presence and voice carry the greatest weight
🔺 how your communication is currently landing - and where it may be limiting impact
🔺 what kind of practice would best support the leader you are becoming
The session is designed to bring clarity and direction - whether or not the Leadership Voice Lab is the right next step.
